About us
Who we are
Clarion is a youth leadership organisation set up to help children and young adults develop the skills and qualities needed to be successful students and citizens.
Our Mission
Clarion's mission is to nurture and develop the leadership potential, health and well-being of children and young people, especially Black and minority youth.
Our History
Clarion Education Foundation was founded by Albey Law-Smith in Leicester in 2012 as a Saturday supplementary school for young people and families of African and Caribbean heritage. The main aims were to improve academic attainment, develop soft skills and to prepare students for opportunities including boarding school bursary placements and scholarships.
Clarion became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in 2019.
Albey retired in 2022 but her legacy remains and the charity continues to build on the foundation that she established.
